River Bowling Club, Clubhouse and Green
.River Bowling Club was formed in 1923, and is affiliated both to Bowls England and to the Kent County Bowling Association (KCBA).
We are a mixed club playing both friendly and competitive (league) matches, with membership ranging in age from teenagers to great-grandparents. The green is situated in River Recreation Ground at the heart of the village, and the club has recently taken over responsibility for both the green and the Clubhouse from the Parish Council. The Clubhouse was rebuilt in 1996 following a fire.
The outdoor season starts in April and runs through to September each year. Short mat bowls is played in the Clubhouse in the Autumn and Winter months, and we have a very active social membership that hold regular events throughout the year.
Social bowling - an ideal, friendly way to learn the game - takes place every Friday evening (17:00 to 19:30 hrs) from May until the end of September - and the bar is open!
