AUssie pairs competition - Monday 27 may 2024

The promised rain held off and, despite a minor problem with the organisation, everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.

A close competion was eventually won by 2 shots by chris phipps and new member joe young. The runners-up were ray swalwell and derek smith.

FRIDAY SOCIAL BOWLING

Once again this season social bowling on Friday evenings from 17:00 to 19:30 hrs is proving to be very popular - and the bar is open!

the session has been a rich source for gaining new members - thanks to the efforts of Gary Brenton. there is an additional social bowling session on monday afternoons.

Mixed PAIRS COMPETITION - 18 MAY 2024

The mixed pairs competion was won by cathy rawson and mike welburn. This came as a bit of a shock to mike. he claimed never to have had a positive score before!

NEW ANNUAL TROPHY

At yesterday's coffee morning the President of Kearsney BC presented a trophy in honour of River BC's centenary.

This trophy will be played for each year in a match between the two clubs.

ANNUAL GREEN REFURBISHMENT

The green was scarified (2 skips of grass removed), hollow tined and 8 tonnes of top dressing spread, then over-seeded. Phil Bedo provided burgers and sausages for a willing band of helpers,

AUSSIE PAIRS COMPETITION - MONDAY 28 august

A closely fought competition with just 3 shots separating the top four pairs resulted in a win for Phyllis Kynoch and John Williams with a total of 20 shots. The distinctive new trophy (courtesy of Derek Smith) was presented by the club President, Mike Kirby.

The trophy was regained with aN EXCELLENT 104 - 95 victory against Gateway on their green. WELL PLAYED EVERYBODY.
